The Speedy Tour Of Our Milk Kitchen

Ever had one of THOSE projects?

You know, the kind where you need to get it done, but you have so many things on your plate, pulling for your attention that it seems you'll never get it done?  You keep working harder and getting busier ~ but you look around, and you really can't tell what's been accomplished.

Well, you're not alone... our milk kitchen was one of those projects this past winter.  Thankfully Seth is great at staying focused and pushing through on projects like that.

When winter keeps getting in your way...

Sooo... When he tore into what was supposed to be a remodel and turned into a complete tear down/ rebuild ~ We stepped back long enough to get a new plan.  When the snow kept falling ~ Seth shoveled the roof and kept going.  When the cows, sheep, horses and chickens needed ice broke so they could get water, we bundled up and broke ice for most the morning, then went back to working on the milk room.

And when the dairy cows needed ice chipped out to make a path to the barn, we chipped away.  (Of coarse, Ellie and Annie almost refused to take the paths we made for them...they're kinda stubborn that way ;)  I'm sure you get it when I say that, it starts to seem like you're running yourself ragged, but getting nowhere.

But, we're happy to say that it is not only finished, but well in use!

Hmm...So why a milk kitchen?

We are so thankful - It's because of you!  What I mean by that, is we have steadily grown enough that we just couldn't continue to provide you with the standard of quality that is so important to us, if we didn't create a separate space for all dairy and products we provide.

~Pasture To Plate~
For us, quality doesn't begin and end in the pasture.  It continues to the care of our animals and the quality of the processes that bring your food from pasture to plate.

Tada! ~ Winter doesn't last forever and neither did our project.

Needless to say, we always want things to go quickly and smoothly, without anything else pulling for our attention, but most of the time , that's just not realistic.  And really...that's okay, because it's always an adventure.

We'd love for you to see where your milk is filtered, cooled and all of your raw milk products are made.  But, we know that you cannot always make it out to the ranch, so I asked Seth to give you a quick video tour of the Milk Kitchen and here it is!

If you'd like to take a look at 8 things we do to bring you quality raw pastured milk, you can read about it here.  And don't forget to check our order page for our next delivery date for pastured meats, eggs and raw dairy.

We'd love to hear what you are up to and how your winter went.  Leave a comment below or email me.

Thanks so much!
