A refreshing
summer drink
that will make
your bones smile!

REALLY, THEY WILL SMILE...
Okay, maybe I don't need an excuse to drink coffee, but it sure does make me feel clever when my favorite summer drink also makes my bones and teeth say Ahhh!  The icing on the cake is that it only takes about 5 minutes.

Some of the nutritional benefits include:
  • Vitamin A
  • Vitamin D
  • Calcium
  • “Activator X” (Discovered by Dr. Weston A. Price -a fat-soluble catalyst that promotes optimum mineral assimilation, now believed to be vitamin K2.  Vitamin A, D and K2 are greatest in milk from cows eating green grass, especially rapidly growing green grass in the spring and fall - see realmilk.com)

It's delightfully creamy, refreshingly cold and packed with flavor.  And ...it sure is beautiful watching that pasture fed cream tumble over the ice cubes into the dark pool of espresso.

So, join me on my front porch, and let's get started!

How To Make A Raw Milk Breve With Pasture Fed Half and Half

A Few Reminders:

  • If you don't have a home espresso machine, that's okay.  Just make about 1/4 cup of strong coffee in your coffee press OR  your coffee maker.
  • Check your grind by pinching grounds between your fingers.  If some fall off, and most stick to your fingers, your good to go.
  • Pint of raw milk half and half will make 2 breves, and of course, a quart will make 4.

Rather See It Written Out? Here you go!

You will need...
  1. Home espresso machine, coffee press, or coffee maker
  2. Ground coffee beans (I prefer organic espresso beans!)
  3. 3T organic evaporated cane juice crystals (This is a nice sugar with a lot of the minerals left in) any sweetener will do
  4. Ice cubes, 6-10
  5. 1 Cup raw, pasture fed half and half (more, if you like it extra creamy :)

To Make The Breve...

  • Place 3 shots espresso in a quart mason jar. (Normally I would use two, but my machine makes makes a smaller shot than a commercial machine)
  • Add your favorite sweetener and stir well.
  • Fill with ice cubes.
  • Slowly pour in raw milk half and half and stir again.
  • Add a straw and enjoy!  It is that simple.
