Buying Bulk Beef ~Made Easy

Have you ever thought, " Oh, it would be so nice to just purchase our meat in bulk, fill our freezer and then not have to think about it again until it's used up?"  Maybe you even got started searching online and talking to friends only to find out that it wasn't worth the hassle.

Here is how it usually goes...
  • After some research, you finally figure out what hanging weight is, so now you can figure out exactly how much your paying for each cut...RIGHT?
  • Well...not exactly.  Hanging weight isn't exactly yield weight.  Yield is a percentage of that, so just a little math.  *SIGH* But, even then you find out that the percentage may not be exact.  It also depends if it's 'bone in' or 'bone out'
  • And, OH BUT WAIT! - They charge 'live weight' and the butcher charges 'hanging weight'  ...And the butcher's charge is NOT figured in. Grrrrr!
Then, if you make it through that...
  • Cut instructions become a nightmare, because every butcher has a different style and all the questions become confusing.
  • Then...the worst part...you are at work and the processor calls and tells you their freezers are full and while they are an hour drive away, they need you to come pick up your meat right away.

After listening to experiences and frustrations just like these, here is what we did to make it an EASY process for you...

  1. We take care of ALL the processing with the butcher, cut instructions and payment. 
  2. We pick it up - no worrying that you'll be able to get away when THE CALL comes.
  3. We store it in our freezers until it is convenient for you to pick it up.  (We can do that, because it is USDA inspected and packaged in really nice cryovac packaging with weights)
  4. You know exactly, how much meat you will get AND how much it will cost, before you buy.

    I set up all the bookings, here on the ranch at the Barn Cabin.  We've made a lot of changes here on the ranch, as our kids are now grown and things have changed a lot for us.  

    Keep watching, as we add some new things back into our ranch offerings, including antler carvings- something I took a break from, but am going to be offering soon. 

    I'll keep things posted here on the blog for you as we add new things!
